Lime Cilantro Shrimp

A delicious easy to make and quick shrimp dish with lime, garlic, and cilantro!

This amazing shrimp recipe is full of flavor and it is so easy to make! It takes less than 10 minutes! You can make it for dinner, a snack, or as appetizers. It truly requires minimal effort yet the final product is an incredibly flavorful dish.

What is the favor profile?

One of the ingredients is lime so the final product has a high acidic taste. The cilantro gives it a herbal spicy note and the garlic makes it...well...garlicky. lol

What ingredients will I need to make this?

Shrimp or prawns, garlic, limes, cilantro, salt, pepper, and olive oil. That's it!

Can I add other ingredients?

I recommend adding a diced jalapeño or a Thai chili for extra flavor and heat if you like spicy hot shrimp.

What can I serve this with?

Rice, plantain chips, over mixed greens, tacos, etc...

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: less than 10 minutes

Serves 2 to 4 people


  • 12 to 16 colossal shrimp or prawns (deveined/tails on)

  • 1 cup of fresh cilantro (chopped)

  • 3 teaspoons of garlic puree or 3 garlic cloves (peeled and minced)

  • 1 lime (juice of)

  • Sea Salt & Black Pepper to taste

  • Olive oil

  • 1 jalapeño or Thai pepper (seeded and diced) Optional


  1. Lightly season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Set aside.

  2. Add two to 4 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  3. Cook the garlic puree or minced garlic in the oil until fragrant, making sure it doesn't burn.

  4. Add the shrimp, cilantro, and jalapeño/Thai pepper (optional). Cook until the shrimp turns color.

  5. Squeeze the lime over the shrimp and cook until they turn pink.

  6. Remove from heat and serve.
